Melvil Dewey Buys Hotel Stearns Lake Placid Inn Co. purchased The newly completed Hotel Stearns from E.C. Stewart at a cost of $75,000 and announced the addition of two new wings and renovations totaling $75,000. The hotel was renamed Lake Placid Club Loj.
